In 2019, author K.B.Spangler decided she wanted to hire an artist for her long-running webcomic A Girl and Her Fed. She used the #visiblewomen tag and found AlePresser!

After two years of working together on an apocalyptical science fiction project, they decided to see what else they could do. As the world was going through…interesting times…they wanted to make something that would be entertaining, enjoyable, and most of all, fun. As long-time fans of manga like Ranma 1/2, they sought to bring that kind of chaotic joy to a new project, and they started working on a medieval comedy called Side Quested.

AlePresserArtist and author AlePresser is a very tired Brazilian mom living in Portugal, with her husband and a giggling toddler potato. She has been working in print and online comics since the 1990s. In early 2020, she earned a Doctorate in Design for hypermedia, and has since turned her thesis into a resources guide for how to develop and publish webtoons. She won the Troféu HQ Mix (somewhat equivalent to the Eisner’s, but in Brazil) for Best Doctoral Thesis in 2020.
