You know how we’ve been casually screaming about some “big news” for ages? We finally have the green light to announce it: Side Quested is going to print!
And that’s not all: not only is Side Quested going to book format, it will be printed through a traditional publisher, which means you’ll be able to buy it at your favorite local bookshop!
We’ve signed a two-book deal with Andrews McMeel Publishing, a company dedicated to showcasing the best in comics. You may be familiar with some of their other titles, including Peanuts, Calvin and Hobbes, and Sarah Andersen’s Sarah’s Scribbles. We are honored and excited to be included in their catalog. Publication dates should be somewhere around Spring and Summer 2026, we should know specifics closer to the date.
(We’re in a slightly sticky situation, though – Side Quested is planned as a trilogy, but as we aren’t established clients with a strong history in trad-pub, AMP wants to learn how well the first two books sell before they commit to the third. Preorders and sales will be critical, so please expect us to get very shouty about this as we get closer to publication.)
This announcement is a huge relief, as we’ve been working on this deal for over a year. We’ve worked with our amazing agent, Bailey Tamayo at Sanford J. Greenburger Associates, to develop, polish, and pitch Side Quested: while both Ale and KB are experienced with putting together proposals, this one has required extra care and planning… and a massive amount of labor. We are two very overworked old ladies, but we are so grateful that our efforts have resulted in this amazing opportunity to bring our stories to a wider audience.
Now, all that is left for us is to… work even harder!
